Testing the Drone
We are currently testing the Drone for numerous things. Here is the schedule for testing. Please note: if you are a STEM Club member and you are going to use this to find out what is happening on upcoming dates, please use the STEM Club Notebook as this may not be accurate.
Testing Highlights
So far there has been 6 tests that have been carried out. These include Light Visibility tests (so how far away you can see the light on the drone), Blade rotation tests (so testing if the blades respond to the controls instructions) and Thrust-Cut tests (so whether the safety features on the drone that allow you to stop the blades turning works).
Upcoming Tests
Weather tests
We need to test how the drone responds to different weather conditions. Based on the current schedule this should happen around the 25th April.
Wing Rotation tests
We need to re-test the blades because on the final Wing Rotation test, we couldn't stop the blades turning. Based on the current schedule this should happen around the 28th March.
Thrust-Cut tests
We also need to re-test the Thrust-Cut safety features because on both tests carried out so far we haven't been able to get the blades turning. Based on the current schedule this should happen around the 28th March.
Light Visibility tests
So far we have only tested the light visibility when it was sunny. We need to test in different weather conditions. Based on the current schedule this should happen around the 25th April.
Software tests
We need to test whether the tracking and drone management software works. Based on the current schedule this should happen around the 28th March.
