Welcome to Hardenhuish STEM Club!

Hardenhuish STEM Club is a fantastic club run every thursday after school. As well as creating opportunities for us to go on STEM related trips an take part in competitions, we get to complete and get involved in some amazing projects.

Summary of of projects we have completed (since 2016)

STEM Club Drone

We started working on the STEM Club Drone in late 2018. We were told that before we joined Hardenhuish (in 2016), the Drone was crashed and one of the legs broke as well as a few other problems. Our task has been repairing the Drone and along the way we have used the 3D printer. We haven't finished fixing the drone yet but we hope to get it flying some time in the next few weeks.

Design Ventura smart wallet

This year, Hardenhuish STEM Club entered the 'Design Ventura' competition run by the Design Museum in London. We initially wanted to make a flexible phone case that could fit all phones but had to re-think after we realised (from the first laser-cut prototype) that the case was way to thick. After re-thinking, we came up with the smart wallet which could still fit all phones and was a handy way of keeping cards with you. Unfotunately, we didn't get through to the next part of the competition but we still take pride in our creation.

Filmimng Hardenhuish Sports Day 2019

This year, STEM Club had a fantastic opportunity to film Hardenhuish Sports Day 2019. However, as there where so many events, we weren't able to film all of them but we filmed over 80% of events (around 20-25)! The day was amazing and we created about 1,000 pieces of footage. We then created a stunning 15 minute long video showcasing the events we filmed which is playing in the Sports Hall (PE Department) and is available to see if you ask Ben.
